Rainbow Rising
The perfect double rainbow framing the city like a beautiful force field
Fireworks on the Beach
This was totally a lucky shot. I was taking a 30 second long exposure of the skyline and halfway through someone decided to shoot off fireworks from the beach. Moral of the story - on 4th of July, keep shooting!
Fast Forward
The face of Chicago Riverwalk has really transformed with the new glass edifices. The fast moving clouds really added to the visual
Silent Sentinels
The mission for the morning was to catch slhouettes. These trees waiting for the sun to rise were willing subjects.
Blue Skies and Red Tulips
Spring is in full swing in Chicago and it's great to see this gorgeous view in my neighborhood
Tulips in the sun
Delicate petals bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. Their time is so fleeting....till next year.
A Spring Sunset
Spring is here and finally I'm on my bike again. So good to be mobile!
Dark Skies
I've been waiting for a while for some fast moving clouds to make an appearance. Yesterday evening there was just the perfect amount of clouds to get this long exposure.
Frozen
Such a beautiful evening - frozen and tranquil. Not thing dramatic about it, the light just fading away softly.
The Flamingo
I often avoid iconic photo spots, but when I do get to them, I understand why they are so popular to start with. Taken with my portrait lens at f/2 from across the street.
Into Orbit
The Willis Tower lurking behind the fog makes it look like it's ready to blast off!
Behind the Veil
Just another foggy day in Chi-town
Cold Winter Morning
Went out to the lakefront on a freezing morning before work. The lake was perfectly calm and I was glad that the wind was not blowing with the sub zero temps.
Topsy Turvy
Everything goes down hill with the mad morning rush. I'm glad it's Friday!
Supernova
The winter solstice sun rose over the horizon lighting up the freezing waters of the Lake with a warm glow.
Breaking Dawn
The color spread across the skies long before the solstice sun made its appearance. The lake has already started its slow freeze.
Color Wheel
Love the colorful lighting on the new ferris wheel at Navy Pier. I wonder if the lights will be up all winter. Want to try reflections of that on ice
Burst of Color
Taking my camera along with me on my ride to work always pays off during fall. This park has some fantastic foliage.
A Sea of colors
It's only once a year, but this view from my balcony is totally worth it. .
All lit up
Anyone wants to count all those windows?
Blues City Shakedown
Ol Muddy, he make the walls ripple, he make it cry and laugh...
Lights
Played around with 3 exposures from sharp focus to all bokeh. So much warmer with the unfocused elements added in.
Grey Skies
Storm clouds streak across the sky ready to bring it's wrath upon the city. I cut it too close that day and got drenched to the bone.
Obscured by Clouds
One minute the city was there and the next it was engulfed by billowing clouds.
A Chicago Sunrise
The clouds were slowly rolling in as the sun rose over the horizon.
Vertigo
The skydeck is obviously very safe, but it's still unnerving to stand on glass and look down.
And the City winds down...
I really love the Goose Island area with the industrial landscape. Sunsets are beautiful there too.
Pink Clad
The view never gets old. The sun always seems to give it a new coat of paint, always a different hue.
Prairie Beauty
From the nature walk at Lincoln Park. Added some texture work for the painterly look.
Looking for the Summer
It's warmer than usual weather in Chicago. Without snow winter feels dreary and I keep looking back at seasons gone by.
