Wanderlust
Gathering Storm
I was on my bike when I felt the first drop. I figured my favorite rooftop view was going to be my best bet to capture the storm. Furious pedaling ensued and it was totally worth it
Sunburst
The epic and blinding grand finale of the henge. The place was jam packed by the time I got there. Got a few good shots before the sun went down. Next time I am going to look for a new spot
Impressions of a Henge
It was here for a fleeting moment, and now it's gone, making way for the cold wind and the falling leaves
Neonhenge
The sun broke through the clouds at the last minute yesterday. A couple of years ago I could not have done this image without bracketing. I'm amazed that I was able to capture an image with this much dynamic range in one shot. Technology has come a long way!
Copper Henge
I think the sun was directly visible only for about 2 minutes, between the time it came out under the clouds and disappeared behind the building. The best part was actually how the street glistened right after the fresh rain. This henge day was really special
Sailor Moon
It was a beautiful evening with my friends and were planning on sunset photos. I think I liked the moonrise better.
Chicago - Sail Away
DragonFire
What a mesmerizing show, shifting tones by the minute - yesterday was one of the best sunsets I've seen in a while. I actually ended up getting a lot of good images. This was the grand finale. I love the transition from the smooth magical silver at the top to the fiery reds and oranges at the bottom.
Shining
Gale
Dark Skies
I've been waiting for a while for some fast moving clouds to make an appearance. Yesterday evening there was just the perfect amount of clouds to get this long exposure.
Cold Winter Morning
Went out to the lakefront on a freezing morning before work. The lake was perfectly calm and I was glad that the wind was not blowing with the sub zero temps.
Obscured by Clouds
One minute the city was there and the next it was engulfed by billowing clouds.
Stranded
I felt really bad for the people stuck in the train. However perfect opportunity to get the shot.
Shelter from the Storm
I was walking back after shooting the Chinese New Year parade when I saw this Lady and a kid just walking slowly down the alleyway hand in hand. Unfortunately I had put away my camera and it took me some time to get it out. Caught the scene just before they disappeared through a doorway. It actually ended up being my personal favorite shot of the day.
One Bean to Rule Them All
Totally worth spending early hours on a winter morning to find an empty bean.
Into the Vortex
Took this shot during a blizzard in Chicago last Superbowl Sunday. We were walking to a friend's house and I took along my camera. My wife was going to pose, but then turned around to avoid the wind and I thought it made a much better shot with her looking through the portal at this neighborhood park.
